Synopsis / Flap text
Dylan Timmers, a Dutch student, has found himself the best summer job he could imagine: lifeguard at Miami Beach.  From the day of his arrival nothing appears to be what he expected.  A dead body found at the beach where Dylan is working, completely turns his life upside down.  A small package, found at the crime scene, drags Dylan into a violent world he was not aware of. Trying to return the package to the rightful owner, Dylan is hunted by two competitive groups of professional criminals. Mixed up in the obscenity and malpractices of terrorists and the drugs scene, Dylan Timmers can’t tell friend or foe.

Gatorway is a social thriller. A story which uncovers a societal problem, most people are still unaware of. What happens when terrorist groups and drugs cartels are fighting over power? When nano-technology meets ordinary crime and an innocent scholar gets involved in a world of violence? Dylan Timmers finds himself all alone on the most exciting and dangerous summer job ever…

Inspiration
A short item on the news revealed how much money criminals are earning by selling drugs. The profit equals billions of US dollars, which is used to enlarge their power. Terrorist organisations produce and sell drugs, using their profit to buy weapons. I questioned myself, what if those wealthy criminals and terrorists would fight over power? Gatorway is an introduction to this problem. The first book of two. The second book is scheduled for publication Spring, 2017.
