Synopsis / Flap text
If there is order, there's chaos. Porsha Gibeon is living the chaotic life. An erratic life with uncontrollable twists caused by her zany gothic friend, the coarse beaked Nola Fester; her lame brother, 'gameboy' Stern, and her crass dad Levine. Oh and her cat, Shades of course. They all have influence on Porsha's life. Making the impossible possible and making the never expected to happen anyway. Although it must be said that Porsche is more than capable to ruin her own life...

Porsha Gibeon is in her early twenties. Her 'bedroom - slash office', is a self made design centre where she works hard to establish her own T-shirt brand. Ready to conquer the world of fashion and desperate to find the love of her life. Falling in love is easy, finding real love seems near to impossible. Especially when those lovers are messing up relations with old friends and family.

Porsha's life is unpredictable, hilarious and edgy. Or, as she likes to say: "It's my mess and I love it!"

Inspiration
Having a girl-only family, inspiration is available all around me. I was challenged to write a chicklit novel. "I can do that" was easily said. Writing the story appeared to be really challenging. And fun! I wanted it to be 'edgy'. Furthermore I wanted some action (read my blog 'Chatterchick' to understand what I mean). That's why I looked for characters non typical to most chicklits. However, the concept of a romantic novel had to be kept. As I had been doing some research on Indie, selfpublishing, of T-shirts, I noticed many girls like to create their own Tee brands. The protagonist of my story was born, all I needed were some crazy characters to bring in the fun...A gothic girlfriend working at the cemetery surely was an unusual best friend. I based her character on a Dutch singer songwriter, Lisa Lois. Being a fan of actor John Goodman, the father figure was also easy to do. (His name, Levine, is based on the real name of comedy writer Chuck Lorre, well known for series like 'Two and a half man' and 'Mom'). Adding a third character, Stern, gave me the opportunity to go crazy on all kinds of stories. Last but not least I needed a good name for the protagonist. I have searched for a name which was unusual, recognisable and desirable. Who wouldn't want a Porsche?
As said in the beginning, inspiration is all around me. Erratic is the first book, A set-up, introducing several characters who will be of use in the sequels...The second book on Porsche Gibeon is scheduled for publication Spring, 2017.

Erratic was first published May 23, 2015, under the penname Kinsey Corwin. (Porsha, at that time, written as Porsche). The cover art was only a basic, surrealistic pair of lips and shoes.

Who is Kinsey Corwin?
A synonym I used writing the first book.

Why Kinsey Corwin?
I knew I could write chicklit. But I was worried about chicklit readers accepting a thriller author to write this genre. So I used a pen name.

But why Kinsey Corwin?
It had to be a female, so Edward de Vere was a 'no go'. That name seemed to be occupied anyway...I tried out a couple of names, none seemed to work for me. Just when I was thinking about using my own name, I remembered the name 'King of Hearts'. I sort of transcripted it into Katie O'Heart. A name with a nice sound, but still too common. I needed something more exquisite. I've looked up the etymology of King and found Kinsey to be old English for King, while Corwin means Friend of the Heart. And there it was! And so it was first published under the name of Kinsey Corwin. Until...you know, the inevitable twists in my life..., there really appeared to be a Kinsey Corwin. And she happens to write as well. End of (this) story. From there on I use my own name. Accept I don't mention my first name upon the cover. Just in case...

Why not Kinsey anymore?
Porsha is an accepted character by now. So is writing in different genres. No need to use confusing names any more. All of my books are now published under my own name. (Hey, guess what? In the end, there really seems to be a writer named Kinsey Corwin... An unexpected twist by life itself!)
